CL Bennett is a self-confessed workaholic. She has a degree in History and a Masters in Teaching, with a view to becoming a high school English teacher. She has worked in a variety of jobs including being a barmaid, waitress, shop assistant, carer for the elderly and disabled, and office worker.

Her novels, which are all set in the fictional village of Idenham Hall, have bed bedded by readers worldwide including Germany, France, Russia, Spain, South Africa and the UK. They have also been translated into several languages including French, Italian and Spanish.
